The consultant will need to work on-site in the Dallas area 4 days per week. Our client is one of the fastest growing cities in the Dallas metropolitan area. This is a long term contract position. Our client needs a leader that is well versed in delivering technology projects across different departments. The consultant will work with multiple departments and report status of multiple projects to the City's CTO.Job descriptionThe IT Program Manager is responsible for overseeing multiple IT projects simultaneously, ensuring efficient execution through structured planning, resource coordination, and clear communication. This role will oversee all aspects of assigned projects, including scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and stakeholder coordination to meet project deadlines and objectives.The IT Program Manager will work closely with various intercity departments and divisions to implement technology solutions that improve efficiency and public service delivery. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical project management skills in a collaborative, public sector environment.Essential Job DutiesTrack and obtain status of all IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business and departmental goals.Organize and coordinate project resources, including IT staff, external vendors, and other stakeholders.Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and status reports.Facilitate clear and effective communication among project teams, leadership, and stakeholders.Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.Conduct regular project meetings, provide status updates, and ensure all stakeholders are informed.Support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of IT projects and systems.Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives for IT project management.Weekly reporting and status updatesKnowledge, Abilities, And SkillsStrong knowledge of IT project management and delivery.Experience in overseeing and tracking multiple concurrent IT projects.Strong organizational, analytical, and time-management skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.Problem-solving skills to identify and address project roadblocks.Good understanding of project management tools and software.Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.Ability to develop and execute strategic communication plans in coordination with relevant departments.Ability to work cooperatively with other City employees and departments.Education, Experience, And CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.Five plus years of IT project management experienceExperience managing and tracking projects in a municipal, federal, or state government setting.Preferred Experience: Familiarity with ERP, HRIS, permitting, financial, or public safety systems.Preferred Experience: Familiarity with system integration, data migration, and change management.Preferred Experience: Knowledge of cloud-based applications (SaaS) and IT security best practices.Thank you
