Financial Controller

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead the accounting and financial operations of a growing, multi-entity organization. This individual will be responsible for overseeing financial reporting, month-end close, general accounting, internal controls, compliance, and the day-to-day management of the accounting function.The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can balance strategic financial oversight with hands-on execution. The Controller will partner closely with executive leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, process efficiency, and sound financial controls while developing and mentoring an accounting team.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Accounting LeadershipLead and manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and supporting schedules.Ensure accuracy of general ledger activity, accruals, fixed assets, lease accounting, and account reconciliations.Maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.Oversee intercompany transactions, allocations, and consolidations where applicable.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.Operational Finance & Business PartnershipPartner with leadership and department heads to support business objectives and operational performance.Provide financial insights, reporting, and analysis to assist in strategic decision-making.Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance controls, and increase efficiencies.Support the implementation and optimization of financial systems and reporting tools.Internal Controls & ComplianceEstablish and maintain strong internal accounting controls and procedures.Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors and advisors.Ensure timely completion of tax, regulatory, and compliance-related reporting requirements.Oversee cash management, account reconciliations, and financial risk mitigation practices.Team LeadershipLead, develop, and mentor accounting staff.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Establish clear workflows, responsibilities, and performance expectations.Support employee development and succession planning initiatives.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.CPA preferred.7+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.Experience managing month-end close and overseeing full-cycle accounting operations.Background working in multi-entity, multi-location, or growing organizations preferred.Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.Ideal CandidateHands-on leader who can operate strategically while remaining involved in daily accounting activities.Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and process improvement.Effective communicator capable of partnering with stakeholders across all levels of the organization.Adaptable, resourceful, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.Committed to building strong teams and driving operational excellence.
