As an EMT, you will be responding to emergency calls, assessing patient needs, and treating as necessary. You will also collect patient information, work closely with dispatch and receiving medical facilities, and create proper documentation for each call you receive. The ideal candidate has an excellent bedside manner, strong critical thinking skills, and works well in high-pressure or stressful situations.Responsibilities Respond to emergency calls in a timely manner, with the ability to stay calm under pressureQuickly and effectively assess patients to determine the extent of the illness or injury and establish priority treatment Administer first aid and treatment to sick or injured peopleCollect vital information from patients, and safely convey that message to hospitals or treatment facilitiesCommunicate with hospitals, treatment centers, and other EMTs effectively to convey treatment needs after patients leave your careMaintain an inventory of medical supplies on your response vehicle, and resupply as neededContinue to attend training sessions to maintain certification and keep up to date with new medical knowledgeQualificationsRequired license or certification required, as per state and federal guidelinesThe ability to act quickly in emergency situationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsValid drivers license with a clean driving recordStrong problem solving and critical thinking skills
