We are working to create a system a culture with a methodology and set of processes where teachers and staff have the freedom, flexibility and invitation to design new ways of learning centered around deepening student engagement to continuously improve student success.Position Overview: A Special Education Paraprofessional at Park Terrace Elementary, helping primarily support students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Cognitively Delayed in grades K-4 in a center-based classroom as well as general education classrooms.Primary ResponsibilitiesImplementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs), customized and personalized for studentsHaving the ability and passion to work with students with disabilitiesWorking comfortably with students in individual, small group, and large group environments, in both general and special education settingsWorking effectively with an interdisciplinary team, while having the ability to work independentlyWorking with school staff to provide support to students, in collaboration with teachersParticipating in, and providing information for, team meetings related to student success and next actionsQualificationsHolding either a high school diploma or a GED certificateCompleted 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits and/or AA degree OR receiving a passing score on the ParaPro AssessmentAbility to pass pre-work physical and complete PCA trainingTraining and experience in the use of computers and other technology equipmentAbility to act in a leadership role and independently initiate and follow through on tasks, under minimal supervisionDemonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in working with students, families, and community representatives, and in collaborating with school personnelWorking ConditionsThere are physical demands to this position, including being able to lift 40 pounds; frequent bending and/or twisting; and possibly physically restraining students Reasonable accommodations may be made to help individuals with disabilities perform the essential functions listed above.SalaryGroup Paraprofessionals Position Paraprofessional Rate of Pay $20.75-$24.20/hr Benefits Medical, Dental, Sick Leave, 403(b), LTD, Life Other Additional $0.75/hr differential if employee holds a bachelor's degree
