Job Title: Social Media Content CreatorDepartment: CommunicationsEmployment Type: Part-Time to Full-Time (25–40 hours/week)Schedule: Includes 1–2 weekday office days + Sundays (required) + EventsPosition OverviewWe are seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media Content Creator to help tell the story of what God is doing in and through Northwood Church. This role is responsible for capturing, creating, and managing engaging digital content across our social media platforms. The ideal candidate is passionate about ministry, understands digital trends, and can translate moments into meaningful, shareable content.Key ResponsibilitiesContent Creation & StrategyPlan, create, and schedule engaging content across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.)Develop and maintain a consistent visual and messaging style aligned with the church’s voice and missionWrite compelling captions that reflect the heart and culture of the churchContent Capture & CoordinationCapture photo and video content during Sunday services and special eventsCoordinate and manage a team of volunteer photographers and videographersCreate shot lists and ensure key moments are consistently capturedEditing & ProductionEdit video content for reels, stories, and longer-form postsPerform basic photo editing to maintain quality and consistencyAdapt content for different platforms and formatsScheduling & PostingMaintain a content calendar and schedule posts in advanceEnsure timely and relevant posting for events, sermon series, and church initiativesMonitor engagement and adjust content strategy as neededQualifications & SkillsStrong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practicesProficiency in video editing (e.g., CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.)Basic photography and photo editing skillsStrong eye for aesthetics, storytelling, and brandingExperience writing engaging social media captionsAbility to manage multiple projects and meet deadlinesStrong communication and organizational skillsComfortable leading and coordinating volunteersAdditional ExpectationsMust be available on Sundays to capture contentAvailable for 1–2 in-office workdays during the weekAvailability for occasional one-time and special events (e.g., conferences, holidays, church-wide events, or evening gatherings) as needed Alignment with the mission, values, and beliefs of the churchA heart for ministry and using digital platforms to reach peoplePreferred CandidatePrevious experience managing social media accounts for organizations, brands, or ministriesFamiliarity with church culture and language is a plus
