Director of National Accounts
Position SummaryThe Director of National Accounts is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding key national and global accounts for a luxury hotel and resort portfolio. This role focuses on driving high-value business across corporate, group, and diplomatic segments while strengthening strategic partnerships and maximizing revenue opportunities.Remote Position **Candidates must reside within one hour of Washington, DC and bring established relationships within government, diplomatic, and political sectors. The ideal candidate is a highly connected sales leader with experience navigating complex, high-profile accounts and representing luxury hospitality brands at the highest level.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Account ManagementDevelop and execute strategic plans for national, governmental, and diplomatic accountsManage relationships with government agencies, embassies, international organizations, and political stakeholdersNegotiate preferred agreements, RFPs, and long-term contractsExpand share of wallet across multiple properties within the portfolioRevenue Generation & Market GrowthDrive revenue across group, corporate, and diplomatic segmentsIdentify new business opportunities within Washington, DC and national marketsCollaborate with property-level sales teams to align account strategiesMonitor production, booking pace, and account performanceRelationship DevelopmentMaintain and grow relationships with key decision-makers within government and diplomatic sectorsRepresent the brand at industry events, political functions, and networking engagementsConduct regular client meetings, site visits, and presentationsHost VIP clients and delegations at portfolio propertiesCollaboration & LeadershipPartner with Sales, Revenue Management, and Marketing teams across the portfolioProvide strategic direction to property-level Directors of SalesAlign account strategies with brand positioning and business goalsReporting & AnalyticsTrack account performance, revenue production, and market trendsPrepare forecasts, reports, and strategic updates for executive leadershipMaintain CRM systems with accurate account data and pipeline activityRequired Qualifications5–8+ years of progressive sales experience in luxury hotel or resort environmentsProven experience managing government, diplomatic, or political accountsEstablished network within Washington, DC including embassies, government agencies, and international organizationsDemonstrated success negotiating high-value contracts and driving revenue growthStrong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to travel as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience with luxury hotel brands or collectionsBackground working with diplomatic delegations, government travel programs, or international groupsExperience with consortia and luxury travel networksBachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business, or related fieldCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salaryPerformance-based incentive planComprehensive health, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holidaysTravel and expense reimbursementCareer growth within a luxury hospitality portfolio
