Description: Top-tier engineering consulting firm on the Site & Asset Data Intelligence (SADI) initiative, a Microsoft Fabric data platform program. This initiative will consolidate fragmented engineering data—including Tablogs API, on-prem SQL Server, and project Excel files (26,000+ logs and 100,000+ test values)—into a governed Bronze/Silver/Gold medallion architecture in OneLake. Technical RequirementsData Ingestion: End-to-end pipelines built on Data Ingestion Framework (Swagger REST, on-prem SQL via gateway/mirroring, and file-based Excel ingestion with schema-drift handling).Governance & DevOps: Bi-directional Alation governance (metadata harvest and lineage) and full CI/CD in Azure DevOps with Dev/Test/Prod promotion and production approval gates.Analytics & API: A Direct Lake semantic model surfaced through Power BI and a REST API delivery layer integrated with the client's existing API framework.AI Integration: An AI-assisted Excel "Bring Your Own Data" (BYOD) intake and validation workflow using Power Apps + Azure OpenAI.Platform Management: Fabric capacity sizing and cost guardrails. Candidate ProfileIdeal candidates are hands-on Microsoft Fabric / Azure data practitioners (Senior Data Engineers, Data Engineers, and Power BI Developers) who are:Proficient in Spark notebook orchestration, medallion lakehouse patterns, and Direct Lake performance tuning.Experienced in Azure DevOps CI/CD for Fabric and governance integrations (Alation preferred).Equipped with a consulting disposition to coach client engineers in real time while shipping production-grade work.
