Apprentice Assembler
*Job Overview*
DEI Power Solutions is seeking a motivated Apprentice Assembler to join our manufacturing team and build a career in electrical equipment assembly. This paid apprenticeship provides hands-on training in the assembly of low-voltage power distribution equipment while developing practical mechanical and electrical skills in a manufacturing environment.
Working alongside experienced technicians, you will learn how to read technical drawings and electrical schematics, identify electrical components, safely operate hand and power tools, and assemble equipment according to company quality standards.
This position is ideal for someone who already has a basic understanding of electrical theory, enjoys hands-on work, and is motivated to develop a long-term career in electrical manufacturing.
*Responsibilities*
* Assist with the mechanical and electrical assembly of components according to drawings, schematics, blueprints, and production documentation.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions.
* Identify and properly handle electrical components used in low-voltage power distribution equipment.
* Apply basic electrical theory during assembly, including an understanding of voltage, current, resistance, circuits, and electrical safety.
* Assist with wiring, routing, labeling, and connecting electrical components under the direction of experienced technicians.
* Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
* Measure, position, fasten, and secure components throughout the assembly process.
* Use measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments when required.
* Perform basic shop math and measurements to ensure components are installed correctly.
* Inspect completed work for proper fit, alignment, workmanship, and accuracy.
* Report damaged components, incorrect materials, or assembly discrepancies to a supervisor.
* Follow all company safety procedures and properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
* Learn additional electrical and manufacturing techniques as training progresses.
* Assist the production team with additional assembly responsibilities as needed.
*Qualifications*
* Basic electrical theory and knowledge is required.
* Basic understanding of electrical concepts including voltage, amperage, resistance, circuits, and electrical safety.
* Must have and maintain your own basic set of tools required for daily assembly work.
* Basic mechanical knowledge and an interest in electrical equipment and manufacturing.
* Ability to read or learn to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
* Comfortable working with hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and industrial equipment.
* Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
* Basic math and measurement skills.
* Ability to accurately follow detailed instructions and established assembly procedures.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Willingness and ability to learn new electrical and mechanical skills.
* Ability to safely lift, position, and handle materials and components as required.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
* Previous manufacturing, electrical, construction, or assembly experience is preferred but not required.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
