Loss Prevention Specialist
Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for protecting company assets by preventing and minimizing shrink due to theft, fraud, and operational errors. This role supports store operations through proactive monitoring, investigations, and enforcing compliance with company policies and safety standards, while maintaining a safe and secure environment for customers and employees.Key ResponsibilitiesAsset Protection & Shrink ReductionIdentify, investigate, and resolve incidents of theft, fraud, and policy violationsMonitor high-risk areas and activities to reduce internal and external shrinkSupport shrink reduction initiatives and ensure proper execution of prevention strategiesSurveillance & MonitoringUtilize CCTV systems and other tools to monitor store activityConduct floor surveillance and maintain a visible presence to deter theftReview video footage and document incidents accuratelyInvestigationsConduct internal and external investigations in accordance with company guidelinesCollect evidence, prepare detailed reports, and partner with leadership as neededSupport law enforcement when necessary and follow proper legal proceduresPolicy & ComplianceEnsure adherence to company policies, procedures, and safety standardsAudit store operations including cash handling, receiving, and inventory controlsPromote awareness of loss prevention practices across all departmentsTraining & AwarenessEducate store associates on theft prevention, safety practices, and policy complianceProvide coaching to reduce operational errors that contribute to shrinkPartner with store leadership to address trends and areas of opportunitySafety & SecurityMaintain a safe environment for customers and employeesRespond to emergencies, incidents, and alarms in a timely mannerEnsure proper documentation of all safety and security events QualificationsPrevious loss prevention, security, or retail experience preferredStrong observational and investigative skillsKnowledge of retail operations and shrink control practicesStrong communication and report-writing abilitiesAbility to handle sensitive situations with professionalismFlexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays Key AttributesHigh level of integrity and professionalismDetail-oriented with strong analytical skillsCalm and confident under pressureStrong sense of accountabilityTeam-oriented with a proactive mindsetAbout UsAlbertsons Companies is at the forefront of the revolution in retail. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility).
