NOTE: U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.Job Description OverviewThe organization develops, builds, and delivers autonomous vehicles (UAVs) to government agencies. They operate as a prime contractor delivering directly to government entities. Having started as an R&D design firm, the company maintains a heavy R&D focus with rapid development, soft ops, and expendable/autonomous vehicle development programs.Size: Over 250 employees and growing (transitioning toward a manufacturing focus).Location: Irvine, CA.Reporting Line: Reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager.Employment Type: Contract-to-hireStatus: Ramping up for several programs in development; launched five new products last year with more upcoming.Schedule: Potential for a hybrid arrangement after 90 days, as determined by the manager and workload; requires a willingness to work additional hours during surge periods as needed.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.Experience:3–5 years of experience in designing robotic, unmanned, or avionics systems.Technical Skills:Circuit and subsystem design, system integration, troubleshooting, wire harness design, electromechanical/electrical system testing, and data analysis.Hands-on Experience: Proficiency with microcontrollers and firmware/software.Team Environment: Ability and experience working in small R&D teams that have introduced New Product Introductions (NPI) into manufacturing.Compliance: Must be familiar with MIL-spec hardware and harnessing standardsClearance: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Security Clearance.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the team to design and build subsystems, hardware, and software for robotic systems.Prepare and create schematics, engineering drawings, and test plans/procedures.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Mechanical, Navigation, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Project Management.
