Voter Registration Coordinator
CASA & CASA IN ACTION SYNOPSIS:CASA’s mission is to create more just society by building power and improving the quality of life in the working-class: Black, Latino/a/e, Afro-descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant Communities. CASA has a sister organization, CASA in Action, a separate but related nonprofit organization exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code. Although CASA and CASA in Action share a common goal of supporting immigrants and low-income people in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Virginia, they are separate organizations with their own board of directors. A set of employees at the two organizations, including the person filling this position, shares their time between the two organizations. This has no effect on salary or benefits. DEPARTMENT SYNOPSIS:CASA has successfully mobilized hundreds of thousands of Latino, Black, and other voters of color across Maryland, Virginia, Georgia, and South Central Pennsylvania through meticulously crafted, data-driven voter initiatives. Employing a comprehensive approach to voter engagement, CASA implements tailored communication strategies, including micro-targeted outreach via calls, texts, and socially-distanced door canvassing. Notably, CASA has expanded its voter outreach efforts in Pennsylvania, reaching into two additional counties, Delaware and Lebanon Counties, while strengthening its presence in Virginia's 1st and 2nd congressional districts. Furthermore, CASA achieved significant milestones in Georgia, mobilizing Latino voters during the pivotal 2022 midterm elections, marking its inaugural electoral program in the state. POSITION SUMMARY:CASA is seeking a Temporary Voter Registration Coordinator to lead our outreach and education efforts. This role focuses on increasing voter participation among working families and immigrant communities in the South Central Pennsylvania area (York, Dauphin and Lancaster Counties). The Coordinator will manage daily field operations, primarily by building and coaching a high-performing team of canvassers dedicated to engaging eligible voters.The ideal candidate is a passionate leader who excels at developing talent and mobilizing community members into a true people-powered movement. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:The Voter Registration Coordinator (Temporary), who is based in York, Pennsylvania, and reports to the Voter Registration Manager, is responsible for the following:Implement Field Operation PlansMeets with the Voter Registration Manager, to discuss daily field operations plans that meet daily program metrics and team-building goalsPrepare all canvassing equipment and supplies prior to launchLead all launch and debrief meetings with the assigned canvass teamStay updated on election cycle news and program changes to disseminate information to your teamTeam SupervisionOversee the daily operations of an assigned canvassing team, monitoring field progress against key performance indicators such as registration ratesEnsure the team is fully equipped with necessary supplies and technology at all timesActively coach canvassers in the field on voter registration best practices and messaging regarding specific issuesProvide real-time feedback and targeted training to support underperforming team membersAct as the primary point of contact for all field incidents emergency or otherwise and provide immediate reports to the Voter Registration ManagerCommunity EngagementExecute daily voter outreach by persuading and mobilizing eligible voters to register and navigate the voting processEnsure all data is recorded accurately and reported within established deadlinesMaintain a comprehensive understanding of current electoral news, campaign messaging, and the specific socioeconomic issues impacting local communities to ensure authentic and effective engagementTeam Building and Daily Reports:Facilitate daily canvass launches and debriefs, sharing key insights from voter interactions to foster a collaborative learning environmentProvide real-time feedback and script guidance following voter engagements to ensure the team maintains high-quality standardsSynthesize qualitative field data into comprehensive reports that inform and strengthen overall campaign strategyAdditionally, manage administrative duties by tracking canvasser attendance and processing timesheetsAdditional Tasks:Support the Recruitment Lifecycle: Assist the Voter Registration Manager by screening new recruits and conducting initial interviews to identify high-potential candidates for final selectionInventory Management: Track and distribute all voter registration equipment and supplies via the internal reporting system; proactively monitor inventory levels to ensure the team is never undersuppliedStrategic Event Coordination: Identify and coordinate community events that align with campaign goals and provide high-visibility opportunities for voter registrationContent Creation & Storytelling: Capture high-quality media content during field interactions to support the Communications team in elevating the voices and stories of impacted votersOperational Support: Perform other job-related duties as assigned to ensure the success of the voter registration program KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABIILITIES REQUIRED:We’re seeking candidates who excel in team environments, are results-oriented, and have strong communication skills.
