As a member of the AHC family, you will join a team of over 300 coworkers, all devoted to providing quality health care to all residents of our communities, regardless of their ability to pay.Your Valued Contributions:The Pharmacy Clerk provides frontline customer service and administrative support in a busy FQHC 340B outpatient clinic pharmacy. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate transaction processing, support for pharmacy technicians and pharmacists, and compliance with organizational and 340B program requirements. The pharmacy clerk plays an essential role in creating a welcoming, patient‑centered environment for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including underserved and medically vulnerable populations. Patient and Customer ServiceDelivers quality customer service to patients, responding to inquiries, questions, or requests, and referring them to the pharmacist for medical information.Communicate wait times, medication availability, and pharmacy procedures.Provides patients with educational information regarding their prescription.Answers telephone in a polite and timely manner and ensure accurate information is exchanged and patient is satisfied. Directs calls to appropriate pharmacy staff.Manages will call bin by calling patients that have prescriptions in the pharmacy for 7 days and returning these prescriptions after the return window specified in our workflow if patients do not pick up.Administrative and Clerical DutiesBalances cash register drawer and prepares daily deposit.Receives and stores incoming supplies; check in and stock medication orders.Counts stock and maintains electronic inventory records.Cleans equipment.Accepts packages at the pharmacy window from UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. Will distribute to the appropriate pharmacy staff person. Will also redirect the delivery drivers to another dept if necessaryFile, scan, and organize pharmacy documents, logs, and records in accordance with regulatory standards.Pharmacy Operations SupportAssist pharmacy technicians and pharmacists with workflow tasks within the clerk’s scope.Manage inventory at the front counter, including OTC items and patient information materials.Restock shelves, maintain cleanliness, and ensure an orderly pharmacy environment.Monitor waiting area flow and communicate patient updates to pharmacy staff.Required Training & Experience:Possesses a current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) CPRPossesses a current State of Michigan driver’s license and valid automobile insurance.Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products.Effectively use the pharmacy software system.We’re Here For You:Supporting Balance: As a part of our family, you will work full time (40 hours per week) with a negotiable starting wage, dependent on education and experience, with predicable scheduling, numerous holidays, generous vacation time and sick days.Supporting Your Health: Robust Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Low deductible Medical, Rx, Vision & Dental insurance at a minimal cost for employees.Supporting Your Future: Retirement Savings Plan with personal access to a Financial Advisor, FSA, Life, AD&D, & Short/Long Term Disability Insurance.Supporting Your Education: Continuing Education Assistance program.
