Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 05/04/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: May 4, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a community hospital in Maryland, requiring NCC C-EFM certification and a minimum of 1 year of L&D experience. Details Labor & Delivery unit at a community hospital setting Unit includes a 4-bed LDR, 1 OR, 2 Triage/Antepartum rooms, and a 12-bed Mother Baby unit that also serves GYN/Women's Surgical patients Level 1 Well Baby Nursery primarily caring for patients 35 weeks gestation and above; patients presenting at earlier gestations are stabilized and transferred Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults Patient ratio of 1:2 Approximately 50–60 deliveries per month Charting is performed in Epic Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as scheduled Floating required within the specialty and to Mother Baby/Postpartum as needed No on-call requirements Requirements Active Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required Required certifications in hand at time of consideration: BLS, ACLS, NCC Certified Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM), NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI STABLE certification preferred Minimum 1 year of L&D experience required; 2 years preferred Ability to work across all areas of the department, including LDR, triage/antepartum, mother-baby, and OR (circulate and catch babies) LDRP training preferred, or demonstrated comfort working in both L&D and Mother Baby environments Additional Information All staff are required to work across all areas of the department, including LDR, triage, antepartum, mother-baby, OR circulator, and delivery AWHONN intermediate or advanced fetal monitoring certifications do not fulfill the Maryland state EFM requirement, though they may be applied toward continuing education hours First-time travelers are welcome to apply All time-off requests must be submitted upfront at the time of offer; no changes to approved RTO will be accepted post-offer American Traveler Job ID P-686968.
