100% Fully RemoteHighlights: Candidate would have the opportunity to gain experience working on custom biometric systems used internationally.The team is comprised of experienced software development professionals, with expertise in biometric technologies, responsible for designing and developing a biometric recognition solution for clients.The system is a custom multimodal biometric platform supporting fingerprint and face recognition, with additional capabilities for object detection.The candidate would be responsible for implementing, integrating, testing, and deploying software updates, patches, and releases for a mature biometric recognition system.In this position, the Candidate would expand their knowledge base in developing biometric recognition systems.Typical Day:The candidate would be expected to work a standard 40-hour work week remotely. Each week, the developer will support SCRUM meetings with the Product Manager and fellow developers. Together, they will define tasks to be accomplished for the week. For every software sprint, the developer will provide a software demonstration of code developed for the sprint.Tasks: Develop and maintain a cross-platform biometric system consisting of an ASP.NET Core web application and a .NET MAUI Android app, with primary focus on server-side features including biometric ingestion, matching, analysis, and reporting workflowsContribute to both backend and web frontend development, including updates to APIs, service-layer logic, and TypeScript/TSX-based UI componentsIntegrate third-party biometric systems, authoritative watchlists, and external data sources to support cross-system identity resolutionSupport development of the Android mobile application by integrating on-device biometric algorithms and ensuring secure, reliable interaction with backend services, while also contributing to user experience improvements for field data collectionLeverage AI to enhance software development activitiesPerform testing in local and MS Azure-hosted environmentsAssist customers in diagnosing and resolving issues as neededFollow secure coding practices and contribute to maintaining strong cybersecurity posture across all application components.Required Qualifications:8-10 years of software development experience in C#3-5 years of experience with .NET web development and REST APIs3-5 years of experience working with relational databases3-5 years of experience in design, development, and testing biometric applications supporting collection and matching on biometric modalities (e.g., fingerprint)Familiarity with ANSI/NIST Electronic Biometric Transmission Specification (EBTS)Experience working with RabbitMQ Message Bus, PostgreSQL and IIS/NGINX web serversExperience with front-end web development using TypeScript and TSX syntaxExperience with Docker containerization for application deploymentFamiliarity with AWS Cloud Computing EnvironmentU.S. Citizens onlyBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline.
