Certified or Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and qualified Substance Abuse Counselor (Certified and/or Licensed) to join our team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, supporting recovery, and promoting long-term wellness.The ideal candidate is passionate about helping others, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is committed to delivering patient-centered care.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide individual for patients with substance use disordersDevelop, implement, and update individualized treatment plansConduct patient assessments, screenings, and psychosocial evaluationsMaintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentationMonitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches as neededFacilitate group therapy sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and coping skillsCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams (medical staff, case management, etc.)Educate patients and families on addiction, treatment options, and recovery resourcesEnsure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policiesQualificationsRequiredCertified Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC, CAC, or equivalent) and/or Licensed Counselor (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery models, and counseling techniquesStrong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environmentWillingness to work early hours and on a Saturday rotationPreferredExperience working in outpatient or inpatient behavioral health settingsFamiliarity with EMR/EHR systemsKnowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT)Skills & CompetenciesEmpathy and compassion for individuals in recoveryStrong clinical judgment and critical thinkingAbility to build rapport and maintain professional boundariesTeam collaboration and communicationAdaptability and problem-solving
