Engineering ManagerFort Worth, TX areaTravel: up to 40% regional travel initially, decreasing over time. (4 regional locations)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead manufacturing and project engineering activities within a growing industrial manufacturing operation. This position will oversee and develop engineering personnel while driving capital projects, process improvements, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.The Engineering Manager will work closely with Operations, Quality, Safety, and Maintenance to improve manufacturing efficiency, support production growth, and develop standardized, scalable fabrication and assembly processes.Essential ResponsibilitiesEngineering LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop manufacturing and project engineers supporting multiple facilities.Establish engineering expectations, performance standards, priorities, and employee development plans.Provide technical leadership and direction for manufacturing and facility engineering initiatives.Manufacturing & Process ImprovementDevelop, standardize, and continuously improve fabrication and assembly processes, including cutting, forming, welding, material handling, and related manufacturing operations.Identify production bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies and implement improvements utilizing Lean, 5S, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.Improve takt time, labor utilization, production flow, facility layouts, and manufacturing methods.Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing and equipment-related issues.Develop practical, repeatable solutions to complex manufacturing challenges.Capital Projects & EquipmentManage engineering and capital projects from concept through implementation, including new equipment, automation, facility construction, and plant expansions.Evaluate equipment requirements and develop capital justifications for new machinery and technology.Support equipment selection, installation, startup, and implementation.Develop and manage capital budgets across multiple facilities.Coordinate projects with internal teams, equipment suppliers, contractors, and other external resources.Equipment Reliability & Maintenance SupportPartner with Maintenance and Operations to improve equipment reliability and uptime.Support preventive maintenance engineering initiatives and identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.Assist with troubleshooting and resolving recurring equipment and production issues.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.7+ years of engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.5+ years of engineering leadership or management experience.Strong background in manufacturing process improvement, capital equipment, and project execution.Experience developing and tracking manufacturing performance metrics.Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis capabilities.Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar CAD/3D modeling software.Proficiency with Microsoft Office.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Ability to travel intermittently, up to approximately 20%.Preferred QualificationsExperience with steel fabrication or other metal manufacturing environments.Knowledge of processes such as welding, cutting, forming, CNC machining/milling, assembly, and material handling.Experience with industrial automation, manufacturing equipment, and machinery implementation.Experience with facility construction, expansions, or production layout projects.Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing methods, and equipment reliability.
