Mechanical Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The role involves working with steel, leading an R&D team, and managing 3D design and documentation tasks. You will also be responsible for prototype development and various mechanical testing processes.ResponsibilitiesLead the research and development team from a process standpoint.Design and document 3D models, focusing on monotony and precision.Develop prototypes in collaboration with the shop team.Conduct mechanical testing, including high potential testing, heat rise tests, and mechanical operations.Work on current projects such as developing new spring configurations for progressive springs and multi-bottle vacuum interrupters.Essential SkillsProficiency in mechanical design and engineering.Experience with steel fabrication and welding, including familiarity with weld symbols.Strong skills in SolidWorks design, design for manufacturing (DFM), and new product development.Proven ability in test engineering and documentation writing.Knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing engineering, and R&D processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications* Comfortable working on the floor and collaborating closely with team members.Work EnvironmentThe work environment is relaxed, featuring a small team with strong communication between engineers and drafters. The team prides itself on a strong culture and offers potential for contract conversion to full-time employment based on performance.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Forest Grove, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
