Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Job Description Our company is hiring for a senior staff accountant. We appreciate you taking the time to review the list of qualifications and to apply for the position. Purpose: The purpose of this role is to maintain the company’s accounting department with day to day accounting activities. Responsibilities Accounting Maintaining accounting records daily and maintaining general ledgers. Prepare standard/non-standard journal entries. Processing accounts payable and receivable. Performing account reconciliations. · Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end account reconciliations with supporting schedules and financial statement reports · Identifying issues and insuring timely recording of necessary adjustments Maintaining the assets and liabilities of the company. Preparation of annual budget in accounting software. Assisting in the preparation of yearly closing statements. Payroll Performing payroll administration tasks such as new hire onboarding, pay rate changes and employee terminations. Processing payroll, administering payroll tax payments and benefit payments. Income Tax · Performing administration tasks such as client communication, accepting documents, scheduling client meetings and tax return assembly and maintaining customer directory. · Assist in the data entry of individual and business income tax returns as needed. Requirements · Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Accounting, Finance, Education, Business, Business/Administration, MBA, Public Accounting, Communication, Economics, Management · Proven experience in the Accounting profession recommended (i.e internship) Demonstrate an excellent understanding of financial and accounting principles. Proficiency in accounting and payroll software such as QuickBooks, SAP, Wave Accounting, or similar. Knowledge working with Microsoft operating system and Office applications. Detail oriented with exceptional numerical skills. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work for long hours if needed. Ability to work independently or in a team environment. Maintaining a positive attitude. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Ability to solve complex problems. Compensation and Benefits: · Full-time only · Salary range $40,000 - $60,000, depending on experience. · Paid time off, holiday pay, healthcare benefits, retirement match and additional incentives available Location: · Ennis, Montana · 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom home available for rent through employer.
