Construction Superintendent
General Construction Company that is based on the West side of the Big Island of Hawaii who specializes in high-quality custom homes, renovations, and a variety of commercial construction projects is seeking a full-time Construction Superintendent. JOB DESCRIPTION:
Superintendent will coordinate and manage all on-site activities, as well work with project teams including Project Managers, Project Engineers, Foreman, and Field Personnel to deliver successful projects to owners, on time and on budget with the desired level of quality.
Superintendent duties include, but are not limited to…
Oversee the on-site execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards.
Ability to be an effective problem-solver and address schedule delays, emergencies, or other daily issues that may arise.
Facilitate transition from preconstruction to project operations, oversee jobsite mobilization, and project kick off.
Manage the overall project and provide a 3-week look-ahead schedule and update it on a weekly basis.
Ensure project management staff is properly coordinating subcontractors and analyzing proper resource usage (overtime, crew size, equipment, etc.)
Provide detailed daily project reports and consistently communicate progress and/or delays with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, and Foreman.
Conduct project reviews to monitor coordination effectiveness and make improvements or address risks (logistic coordination, trade partner management, etc.)
Oversee coordination of projects closeout process to ensure a successful turnover to owner.
Ensure project compliance with HIOSHA safety and County building codes.
Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identify and clarify any discrepancies.
Work with the project team to build, support, and maintain a strong relationship with owners, subcontractors and suppliers.
Manage subcontractors for all work performed on-site and conduct on-site project meetings as needed with subcontractors.

a. Project management team on labor productivity, procurement, cost, and purchasing activities to remain within budget and on schedule.
b. Schedule development and maintenance to ensure projects are completed on time, reflect scope, quality control, and reach profitability goals.
c. Estimating and preconstructions activities, drafting/reviewing scopes, and developing project budgets.
Management and supervision of work crews on-site including…
a. Mentor and train field personnel.
b. Manage foreman and their duties and ensure all have resources and information to perform their tasks effectively and efficiently.
c. Provide performance evaluations of field personnel.
d. Manage the overall safety of the project and ensure all personnel have resources to perform their work safely.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Possesses strong communication skills and practical listening skills.
Exceptional time management skills.
Demonstrated technical skills and understanding of construction methods, contracts, and blueprints.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Basic computer skills with experience in MS Office Suite and Bluebeam.
5+ years of proven leadership or supervisory role and construction experience.
Current driver's license, preferred Hawaii driver’s license.
