Learning Specialist, Product & Sales

The Learning Specialist, Product and Sales is responsible for creating, managing, and evolving product and sales training for both our Retail and Customer Care channels. This role combines creativity, instructional design, and relationship-building to deliver learning experiences that increase product knowledge, improve selling behaviors, and drive conversion and attachment across the organization. Working closely with partners in Merchandising/Design, Store Operations, Field, and Vendor teams, the Learning Specialist will design and deliver engaging, on-demand content and resources that make product information simple, compelling, and actionable for associates. This individual also helps define and develop the company’s selling framework and integrate product knowledge training into everyday selling practices which will drive conversion and sales. This role requires a highly creative, self-motivated learning professional who can translate product and selling priorities into clear learning experiences that are visually engaging, easy to access, and aligned to business goals. This is an on-site position (Monday through Thursday) based out of our Northbrook, IL office with the flexibility to work remotely on Fridays.This is an individual contributor role This position is an onsite position based out of Northbrook, IL (Monday-Thursday, Friday Remote)A day in the life as a Learning Specialist, Product and Sales...Build and lead a structured process for product and sales training prioritization, calendarization, and deliveryCreate a strong library of evergreen foundational product and sales learning content to support onboarding and ongoing developmentOwn vendor relationships for product training. Coordinate calls, content development and updatesDeliver learning in modern, digital, creative formats and drive user-generated content adoptionDesign, develop, and produce engaging digital and on-demand learning content (e.g., video, visual resources, short eLearning, playbooks, micro-trainings)Partner with SMEs to create clear, concise, and brand-aligned content that makes product features and selling strategies easy to understandFacilitate or host live product or vendor training calls as neededPartner with field leaders to model and reinforce selling behaviors through huddles, micro-trainings, and field-facing materialsFacilitate live product or vendor training calls as neededPartner with field leaders to model and reinforce selling behaviors through huddles, micro-trainings, and field-facing materialsMonitor program adoption and training usage through metrics like content engagement, sales KPIs (conversion, UPT, ADT), and by conducting field visitsAnalyze feedback and business performance to identify opportunities for improvementWhat You’ll Bring To The Table…Passion for home industry products Strong instructional design and content creation skills, including micro-learning, video, facilitation resources, job aids, and visual storytellingExcellent writing and editing skills with the ability to simplify product informationDeep understanding of retail selling and customer engagement behaviorsProficiency with learning design and media tools (e.g., Articulate Rise, Canva, Camtasia, etc.)Strong organizational skills; able to manage multiple projects and shifting prioritiesAbility to work independently and own projects end-to-endRelationship-builder who can influence and coordinate work completion with cross-functional partnersCreative problem-solver who brings new ideas and fresh approaches to learningWe’d love to hear from you if you have…3+ years of experience in Learning & Development, Sales Enablement, or Retail TrainingExperience in a retail environment is preferredDemonstrated ability to design and produce engaging learning content and resourcesFamiliarity with selling frameworks, product education, and customer experience principlesBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Communications, Retail Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
