The engineering faculty position will be a key part of a team responsible for the new engineering program's development and implementation. This individual will not only develop and deliver the curriculum but also guide the program's strategic direction, ensuring it aligns with local industry needs.The role involves establishing the program's resources, such as laboratory facilities, and playing a central part in student recruitment, advising, and mentorship. To ensure the program meets local industry needs, this position will continuously cultivate partnerships and interactions with external stakeholders. This faculty member's contributions will be vital for ensuring the program's growth, and overall success by working collaboratively within the department and with local industry to build a strong and cohesive engineering program at MiSUDuties includeCreate and refine new engineering courses, including course outlines, learning objectives, and assessments.Prepare and deliver engaging lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and project-based learning experiences.Integrate industry-relevant skills and technologies into the curriculum to ensure graduates are well-prepared for the workforce.Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback.Identify, procure, and set up specialized laboratory equipment and software.Develop safety protocols and manage a safe and effective learning environment for students.Collaborate with the department and university administration to secure funding and resources for program growth.Maintain and update equipment and lab spaces as the program evolves.Conduct research in a specific engineering field, publish findings in peer-reviewed journals, and present at professional conferences.Secure external grants and funding to support the program and student research.Develop and maintain partnerships with local and regional industries to ensure the curriculum meets their needs.Organize and manage internship and co-op opportunities for students.Compensation:Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
