PATHOS is a full-stack marketing agency based in downtown West Palm Beach, specializing in brand development and growth across physical and digital spaces. We deliver end-to-end media solutions through a comprehensive suite of advisory, creative, web, video, and media services, helping clients from local startups to national organizations amplify their brand with industry-leading talent and technology.This role is WordPress first, but we're not looking for someone who stops there. The web is evolving fast, and we want someone whose skills extend beyond a single CMS. You'll work directly under our lead developer, splitting your time between maintaining the 30+ websites we manage, handling client-requested updates, and converting Figma designs into fully functional WordPress sites using Elementor (roughly one new build per month, with support and guidance provided). In a world constantly changing due to AI, the person who thrives here has obsessive attention to detail, notices what's broken before anyone reports it, picks up new tools just to see how they work, and knows exactly when a change is risky enough to flag before touching a live client site.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManage hosting, maintenance, backups, and routine updates across our 30+ client websitesTriage and debug issues across the portfolio: plugin/theme conflicts, performance regressions, hosting and DNS problems, and the occasional compromised siteMaintain website security, uptime monitoring, and hardening best practicesExercise judgment on deployment risk: know when a change warrants a staging environment or a heads-up before touching a live client site, and when it's safe to just shipHandle client-requested updates and enhancements to their sites, scoping work realistically and tracking time against retainer/dev-hour budgetsManage your own time across competing demands: routine maintenance, incoming client requests, and the active monthly build all run in parallel, and deadlines can't slip because a plugin update ate your afternoonConvert Figma design mockups into pixel-accurate, fully functional WordPress sites using Elementor, dropping into custom code where the builder falls shortEnsure websites are responsive, mobile-friendly, and cross-browser compatibleOptimize websites for speed, performance, and Core Web VitalsImplement technical SEO best practices on new builds and existing sitesIntegrate third-party APIs and tools (CRM, marketing automation, analytics, etc.)Improve how we manage sites at scale: propose tooling, automation, and process improvements rather than grinding through manual workCommunicate directly with clients as you grow into the role: clarifying requests, setting expectations, and explaining technical issues in plain languageDocument processes for internal and external teamsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of professional WordPress development experienceWordPress expert: understands lifecycle hooks, CPTs, and meta boxes, and can develop or customize WordPress themes and pluginsSolid PHP and MySQL fundamentals, and strong debugging skills: comfortable reading error logs and methodically isolating problemsExperience building with Elementor without being limited to itWorking knowledge of hosting environments: cPanel or similar, DNS records, SSL, SFTP/SSH basicsStrong understanding of SCSS and TailwindProficient with Git version controlAble to leverage AI development tools such as Claude Code to multiply your output and help solve problemsComfortable building apps in at least one JS framework: Vue, React, Svelte, etc.Figma proficiency: able to navigate design files and produce low-fidelity wireframes and prototypesFamiliar with build tools such as Composer, NPM, and ViteBasic to intermediate understanding of at least one CRM: HubSpot (preferred), Salesforce, Zoho, etc.BONUS SKILLSLaravel / Livewire (TALL stack) and MVC architectureExperience managing sites at scale with tools like MainWP or ManageWPExperience in an agency or multi-client environmentDesign acumenExperience with WooCommerceShopify / LiquidHR STUFF Position OverviewDepartment: Technology & InnovationDirect Reports: NoFLSA Status: ExemptBenefitsWe offer competitive compensation, comprehensive health benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, and a 401k retirement plan.
