Driveline Systems Design Engineer

What you’ll be doingCreating validated 3D models, 2D drawings, and supplier spec sheets utilizing the standard design process.Leading Design Reviews for your responsible parts to show how your design achieves its function and targets.Developing counter-measures to gaps such as cost, mass, durability, strength, and warranty rate based on data and engineering mindset.Building relationships with key stakeholders (such as vehicle design, TMC driveline design, Supplier Development teams, purchasing, and assembly plants).Managing NA suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts in line with the requirements of each milestone.Benchmarking similar designs to improve our customer experience and cost.What you bringBachelor of Science of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field of study.5+ years in automotive design/development, specifically in developing Transfer Cases, Differentials,Propshafts, and DriveshaftsDemonstrable CAD skills and knowledge of GD&T.Experience in the detailed design and release of prototype and production component drawings and supplier spec sheets.Knowledge of typical automotive manufacturing methods (i.e. Aluminum and Iron Castings, Forgings,Machining, Thermoplastics, and Rubber Molding).Proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint.Strong knowledge of conventional, hybrid and electrified drivelines.Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.Team-oriented thinking and a “can-do” attitude.
