DescriptionJob Overview: The Assistant Golf Course Superintendent (Temporary) supports the Superintendent in the daily management and maintenance of the golf course and surrounding grounds. This role plays a key part in delivering exceptional playing conditions while leading, training, and motivating the maintenance team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about the golf course management professionCompensation: $70,304.00-75,000.00/YrFirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.Job ResponsibilitiesAssist in planning and executing daily maintenance operations for the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, rough, and clubhouse groundsSupervise and lead maintenance staff; provide training, scheduling, and performance feedbackMonitor and maintain turf health through proper irrigation, fertilization, and pest management practicesApply fertilizers and plant protectants in accordance with agronomic plans and regulatory requirementsAssist in irrigation system operation, troubleshooting, and repairsEnsure safe operation and maintenance of all equipmentSupport course setup to ensure optimal playing conditions and consistencyMaintain accurate records for chemical applications, water usage, and maintenance activitiesAssist in managing budgets, inventory, and supply orderingPromote and enforce workplace safety standardsSkills & QualificationsDegree or certificate in Turfgrass Management, Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field (preferred)2–5 years of golf course maintenance experience, preferably at a high-quality facilityKnowledge of turfgrass cultural practices, irrigation systems, and pest managementStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to obtain and maintain a state pesticide applicator’s licenseBilingual (English/Spanish) is a plusEducation & ExperiencePossesses a high school diploma or equivalent work experiencePhysical Requirements And Working EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
