Bridgecross LLC is seeking a Software Engineer V to support NOAA’s National Geodetic Survey (NGS). This role focuses on developing and modernizing scientific and geospatial applications supporting GNSS data systems and cloud-based platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesLead full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activitiesDevelop functional and technical requirementsDesign, build, test, and deploy mission-critical applicationsImplement scientific algorithms and data processing solutionsCollaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersSupport modernization of legacy systems into cloud-based architecturesDevelop and maintain technical documentationRequired Qualifications 8–10+ years of software development experienceStrong expertise in:C, C++, Fortran, Java, JavaScriptOracle PL/SQL, Oracle Apex, Oracle SpatialExperience implementing scientific or mathematical algorithmsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsTechnical SkillsPython and Linux shell scriptingPostgreSQL and relational database systemsExperience with Git, BitBucket, Subversion, and JIRAExperience with NetBeans or EclipseCloud & AWS ExperienceContainerization (Docker, AWS ECS/Fargate)Messaging systems (Amazon SQS)Storage & hosting (Amazon S3, CloudFront)Networking & compute (IAM, EC2, VPC, ALB)Preferred QualificationsInfrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK)Experience building RESTful APIs (Express.js preferred)Linux/RHEL system experienceExperience in federal or scientific environmentsClearance RequirementCandidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
