Cloud Solution Architect – Azure Government Cloud MigrationLocation: Remote (Seattle, WA)About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Cloud Solution Architect to lead large-scale migration and modernization initiatives from on-premise data center environments to Azure Government Cloud.This role will own the end-to-end cloud transformation strategy, including architecture design, migration roadmap, modernization patterns, and governance alignment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssess current applications, infrastructure, dependencies, and overall cloud readinessDefine target-state architecture for Azure Government Cloud environmentsDevelop and execute phased migration roadmapsIdentify and implement migration strategies:Rehost (lift & shift)Re-platformRefactorContainerization and modernizationDrive cloud risk assessments, PoC planning, and implementation strategyEnsure alignment with security, compliance, and governance standardsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, SMEs, DevOps, DBAs, and application teamsDefine CI/CD pipelines and deployment models using Azure DevOpsEstablish environment strategy for Dev / Test / SIT / UAT / ProductionDesign release management and rollback strategiesImplement monitoring and observability using:Azure MonitorLog AnalyticsApplication InsightsRequired Skills & ExperienceCloud & AzureHands-on experience with Azure Government CloudExpertise in:Compute, Storage, NetworkingDatabasesIdentity & Access ManagementSecurity and Key ManagementMigration & ModernizationAzure Migrate, Azure Site RecoveryDatabase Migration ServiceDependency mapping and assessmentExperience with modernization using:AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)Azure App ServiceAzure FunctionsLogic AppsMicroservices architectureDevOps & AutomationStrong experience with:Docker & KubernetesAzure DevOps / GitHub ActionsCI/CD pipelinesRelease and rollback strategiesApplication & DatabaseDevelopment experience in:Java, Spring BootReactDatabase technologies:OracleSQL ServerAzure-native database platformsSecurity & ComplianceIAM, encryption, governance controlsExperience working with regulated environments (Gov/Compliance-driven workloads)Preferred QualificationsExperience delivering enterprise cloud transformation programsStrong stakeholder management and client-facing experienceAzure certifications (Solutions Architect / DevOps Engineer preferred)⚠️ Compliance Requirement: This role supports projects subject to U.S. Export Control regulations (ITAR/EAR).
