Vice President of Sales

POSITION SUMMARY Walker Ink, LLC is seeking a Vice President, Sale who is responsible for leading and driving the profitable growth of Happy Brands’ wholesale business across all assigned sales channels and accounts. This role provides both strategic leadership and hands-on management of key retail relationships, sales planning, forecasting, business development, and cross-functional execution.This role is based in Southern California with an in-office work schedule for local candidates. Remote consideration is available for highly qualified candidates located outside of California.This individual will oversee sales strategy, customer partnerships, account performance, and team leadership while working collaboratively across Product Development, Design, Operations, Planning, Finance, and Marketing to support successful product launches and long-term business growth.The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and an execution-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced consumer products environment and can effectively balance high-level business planning with day-to-day sales management responsibilities.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDESales Leadership & Business StrategyDevelop and execute long-range sales strategies and annual business plans to drive profitable growth acrosswholesale channels and key accounts.Lead overall sales planning, forecasting, and account management activities for assigned retail partners anddistribution channels.Identify opportunities to expand existing business and develop new business opportunities aligned with company growth objectives.Analyze customer POS data, market trends, competitive activity, and category performance to develop actionable business recommendations and account strategies.Establish annual account goals, sales targets, and growth initiatives in partnership with executive leadership.Drive strategic Joint Business Planning (JBP) initiatives with key retail partners.Account Management & ExecutionMaintain strong relationships across all levels of assigned customer organizations. Lead customer meetings, line reviews, presentations, and business update discussions. Oversee sales analysis, replenishment management, promotional planning, and assortment recommendations. Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts and reporting. Effectively communicate sales performance, risks, opportunities, and business updates to leadership.Team Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead, coach, and develop members of the sales organization as applicable. Foster strong cross-functional partnerships with Product Development, Design, Marketing, Planning, Operations, Finance, and Creative Services teams. Collaborate internally to support product launches, customer initiatives, and evolving business priorities. Participate in industry trade shows, customer meetings, and company events as needed. Support organizational alignment through clear communication, accountability, and proactive problem solving.Additional ResponsibilitiesMonitor marketplace trends, retailer strategies, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities and potential risks. Maintain a high level of knowledge regarding product assortment, inventory position, and retailer performance. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSEducation and/or ExperienceMinimum 7–10 years of progressive sales leadership experience within consumer products, retail, or wholesale sales environments. Proven experience managing national retail accounts and driving profitable revenue growth. Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic sales plans and business presentations. Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and collaborating across multiple departments. Strong forecasting, analytical, and business planning capabilities. Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and negotiation skills. Ability to travel as needed (approximately 20–30%).SkillsStrong strategic thinking and business acumen. Results-driven with strong financial and bottom-line orientation. Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills. Strong leadership, coaching, and team development abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Proactive problem-solving and decision-making capabilities. Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint.
