This role partners closely with business leaders to translate priorities into high-impact experiences that strengthen the CGI brand and drive tangible business outcomes. CGI will consider candidates proximate to any CGI office with a preference for Fairfax VA, Boston MA, Atlanta GA and Charlotte NC. CGI utilizes a hybrid model and partners should be prepared to work in a local CGI office, as needed.
Your Future Duties and ResponsibilitiesAs an Events Manager, you join the U.S. Events Team and will manage a broad portfolio of concurrent events across CGI's U.S. operations. These may include:
Executive and leadership meetings
Internal employee engagement events
Virtual and hybrid events hosted on enterprise or third-party platforms
Industry conferences and tradeshows
CGI-hosted client and business development events
Strategic Event Planning & Portfolio Management
Partner with Marketing Communications and business leaders to develop event strategies aligned to business objectives.
Support the definition of event goals, success metrics, and measurement approaches.
Provide strategic counsel on event investments and attendee experience design.
Manage multiple events simultaneously, balancing competing priorities and timelines.
End-to-End Event Management
Partner with business and program leaders to manage event planning and execution across logistics, production oversight, and post-event evaluation.
Develop and manage detailed event logistics and production timelines aligned to program milestones.
Build and manage budgets, track actuals, and ensure timely invoice processing and reconciliation.
Negotiate contracts and pricing with venues, event hosts, and vendors.
Provide thoughtful cost guidance and financial stewardship across events.
Event Logistics & Execution
Manage all event logistics, including: Site selection and hotel sourcing Room block management Audio/visual arrangements (in-person and virtual) Food & beverage planning Meeting space or exhibit set-up and flow Offsite activities and transportation Shipping and on-site coordination
Travel as needed to manage on-site execution.
Coordinate on-site staffing and vendor performance.
Purchase and manage event materials, branded merchandise, and attendee gifts as needed.
Virtual & Hybrid Event Production
Oversee production for virtual and hybrid events using platforms such as Microsoft Teams Town Hall, Digicast, and other digital event tools.
Coordinate production rehearsals, technical run-throughs, and live event execution, partnering with program leadership on speaker readiness.
Ensure high production quality and a seamless attendee experience.
Event Communications & Brand Stewardship
Draft and edit event-related communications including invitations, registration copy, reminder emails, and post-event follow-ups in partnership with program leadership.
Manage or support registration platforms and attendee communications workflows.
Develop and distribute post-event surveys, partnering with program leadership, and synthesize insights to inform continuous improvement.
Ensure consistent and compelling CGI brand application across event materials, signage, and attendee touchpoints.
Collaborate with creative services on signage, graphics, and experiential elements.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Build strong working relationships with business leaders, executives, program managers, and Marketing Communications colleagues.
Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders on event strategy and execution.
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with event organizers, third-party associations, suppliers, vendors, and venues.
Manage vendor sourcing, contracts, timelines, and performance.

5+ years of experience in corporate event management across a broad portfolio of concurrent events, preferably within a professional services or IT environment.
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, Event Management, or related field preferred.
Strong project coordination skills, including managing multiple priorities, working with multiple internal stakeholders, meeting deadlines, and driving successful cross-functional collaboration.
Demonstrated experience managing executive-level, large-scale, and virtual events.
Fluency in brand application, verbal and written communications, editing, and proofing.
Fluency in vendor and supplier relationship management, including contract negotiation and performance oversight.
Strong budget management experience, including forecasting, tracking, and financial reconciliation.
Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools thoughtfully and responsibly to enhance efficiency, insight, and quality in events, while applying sound judgment and human oversight.
Resourcefulness to build strong networks, facilitate collaboration, and solve problems proactively.
Ability to operate effectively in a complex, matrixed organization and adapt to shifting business needs.

Strong executive presence and sound judgment under tight timelines.
Technical Skills
Experience with Microsoft Office, including presentation creation in PowerPoint and advanced use of Excel.
Experience with digital event platforms and virtual production tools.
Experience with marketing automation platforms (HubSpot preferred).
Familiarity with work management tools (Workfront preferred) and collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams, SharePoint).
Experience with Cvent or similar event registration platforms preferred.
CMP distinction a plus.
