Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Cardiothoracic ICU

A reputable health network in North Jersey is currently seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) to join their growing Cardiothoracic ICU/Step team.About the Opportunity:Schedule: 3 12-hour shifts a week (mix of days/nights/weekends; flexible scheduling)Patient Volume: Two APP providers managing approximately 24 patientsResponsibilities:Managing patients in Cardiac Critical Care and Cardiothoracic ICU environments, including post-open-heart surgery and cardiac step-down carePerforming and managing advanced procedures, including:Central and arterial line insertionsChest tube and pigtail placement and managementEmergency sternotomy (reopening the sternum in critical post-operative events)Managing ventilators, hemodynamics, and post-operative recovery for cardiac surgery patientsCollaborating with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and multidisciplinary teamsHandling admissions, post-operative rounding, and ongoing patient managementQualifications:2+ years of CVICU and/or Cardiac Critical Care experienceMaster's Degree (NP or PA)Active or eligible NJ Nurse Practitioner (NP) and/or Physician Assistant (PA) licenseCardiac Surgery Unit Advanced Life Support (CSU-ALS)BLS certificationsProcedural competency in central lines, arterial lines, chest tubes, and pigtailsStrong background in post-Open Heart and Cardiothoracic Surgery settings Desired Skills:ECMO management experiencePrior exposure to Emergency Sternotomy or Re-exploration for BleedingYour privacy is important to us.
