DescriptionShift Type: Varied; Monday through Thursday offLooking for an applicant that presents a professional image, has an upbeat personality and is comfortable talking to a variety of peopleMust be 21 years oldESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:Depending on experience, the essential duties, responsibilities, points of service and SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) outlined below may be taught and demonstrated during the Host training process.Reports directly to the Restaurant Supervisor / Manager.Requires dependable, punctual attendance and be willing to work flexible hours, holidays and attend mandatory meetings when scheduledProvide prompt, courteous and efficient service to all guestsInteract with Guests and co-workers in a friendly and professionally mannerControl restaurant occupancy flow and adjust as neededAssign tables; seat guests, distribute menus and cater to large groupsMake recommendations and answer menu related inquires|Assist in making Restaurant ReservationsAdhere to all Departmental SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures)Adhere to all Company Policies and Health Department RegulationsRequires the ability to follow directions from Supervisor /ManagerStrong organizational skillsAll other duties as assignedRequirementsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:• High School diploma or equivalent.• One (1) year working in a restaurant environment preferred.AGE and CERTIFICATIONS:• 16 years of age or above• Alcohol Awareness Card (if 21 years of age or older)• Ability to obtain a Health Card if requiredLANGUAGE SKILLS:• Ability to read and understand a variety of instructions in English• Fluency in English required.• Ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:• Basic Math skills.• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.REASONING ABILITY:• Ability to apply common sense reasoning to a variety of situations. Requires the ability to understand and follow policies and standard operating procedures and be adept and proactive in problem solving.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the Employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, see and hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time. When on or near the casino floor or other designated areas, employee may be subjected to tobacco smoke.Due to the unpredictable nature of the hospitality/entertainment industry, employees must be able to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the property.
