Fabrication Assistant

Job Description Job SummaryThe Fabrication Assistant supports the fabrication department by assisting with deburring, part preparation, material handling, and general shop duties. This role helps ensure parts are properly prepared for welding, painting, assembly, or shipment while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with deburring, grinding, sanding, and cleaning fabricated partsRemove sharp edges, slag, and surface imperfections from metal componentsPrepare parts for next operations such as welding, painting, or assemblyPerform basic material handling, including moving parts and staging workMaintain cleanliness and organization of fabrication areasFollow work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standardsOperate basic hand and power tools under supervisionAssist fabricators and welders with general shop support tasks as neededRequired QualificationsAbility to use basic hand tools and power tools (grinders, sanders, deburring tools)Willingness to learn fabrication processesStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.Commitment to workplace safety and PPE requirementsPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environmentExperience working with metal (steel, aluminum, stainless steel)Basic knowledge of shop safety practicesWork EnvironmentFabrication/manufacturing shop settingExposure to noise, dust, heat, and metal materialsCompany Description We're not just a staffing company - we're a people company.
