Electrical Superintendent
Job DescriptionGENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all aspects of electrical work during theconstruction of the solar farm. This role ensures that all electrical systems are installed safely,efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards. The superintendentwill manage electrical subcontractors, coordinate with other trades, and ensure project milestonesare met on time and within budget.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (Other duties may be assigned):Supervise and manage electrical teams, including subcontractors and internal staffProvide guidance and training to electrical crews to ensure quality and safetyDelegate tasks effectively to ensure project timelines are metOversee and schedule all electrical installation activities, including wiring, grounding, inverters,switchgear, and transformersCoordinate with the managers, and other trade superintendents to ensure smooth workflowManage the daily and weekly progress reports, keeping track of material usage, workforce, andwork progressEnsure all work complies with relevant electrical codes, project specifications, and safetyregulationsConduct regular safety meetings, ensure proper us of PPE, and enforce adherence to companysafety policiesConduct site inspections to ensure electrical systems are properly installed and testedConduct inspections and testing of electrical installations to ensure quality and complianceEnsure that all installations meet the design and engineering standardsIdentify and resolve issues or discrepancies in design or installation that may impact systemperformanceCollaborate with engineers, general contractors, and other site supervisors to ensure alignmenton project needsWork closely with procurement teams to ensure materials are ordered and delivered on timeAssist in the planning and execution of testing and commissioning of the electrical systemsValid drivers licenseMINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Proven 3-5 years of experience in electrical construction, and supervisory role preferably in solarfarm constructionExperience in overseeing the installation of electrical systems in large-scale solar projectsJourneyman or Electrician certification is requiredOSHA -30 certification is requiredStrong understanding of electrical codes (NEC) and safety regulationsAbility to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawingsCompany DescriptionEstablished in 1948 in Grand Isle, LA, GIS began as a modest company serving the commercial fishing industry.
