This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on adult patient populations while enjoying competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.In this vital position, you will oversee a Nurse Practitioner, participate in patient research studies, and provide both inpatient and outpatient care. The selected candidate will serve primarily in an inpatient setting with some outpatient responsibilities during physician vacations, ensuring continuous, high-quality oncology and hematology care. The role involves call coverage during the scheduled period, with a focus on managing a patient load of approximately 12-15 patients daily.Required Skills* Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology * Valid medical license to practice in Virginia or eligible for licensing * Proven experience in adult oncology and hematology care * Strong clinical skills in inpatient and outpatient settings * Ability to oversee and collaborate with Nurse Practitioners * Familiarity with electronic medical records, specifically EPIC * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Willingness to enroll and manage patients in clinical research studiesNice to Have Skills* Prior experience in research enrollment and protocol management * Comfortable with inpatient call responsibilities * Experience with diverse patient populations * Additional certifications in oncology or hematology subspecialtiesPreferred Education and Experience* MD or DO degree from an accredited institution * Board-certified or eligible in Hematology and Oncology * At least 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting * Prior experience with EPIC EMR system preferredOther Requirements* Availability to cover scheduled dates starting April 2026, weekly Monday through Friday coverage * Must be willing to participate in call coverage * Ability to travel to the practice site as needed * Compliance with all licensing, certification, and hospital credentialing requirements * Willingness to work in both inpatient and outpatient environments and enroll patients in research studiesThis is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a leading cancer care program while enjoying a competitive hourly rate of $19,500.00.
