Position Overview:
As a Quality Management Specialist at NARA NW, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our organization's quality program is efficient and effective. You will help to develop quality assurance and quality improvement strategies. You will assist with the optimization of policies, procedures and workflows within the organization. You will assist in the creation of quality assurance standards as well as measurement and monitoring of quality initiatives. Additionally, you will provide a critical link between the theoretical frameworks of quality management and their practical application at NARA, NW. Your work will help to foster a culture of continuous quality improvement by ensuring excellence within the organization.
What you will do:
QM Systems: ensure alignment with NARA NW's quality management program, accreditation requirements, and regulatory standards.
Audits: Assist with site audits including internal audits to verify compliance with regulations, standards and company policies.
Corrective Actions: Identify deficiencies and assist in the development of corrective and preventive actions as needed.
Reporting: Categorize observations and document results in comprehensive reports for management review.
Facilitate Continuous Quality Improvement: promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Team Collaboration: Collaborate as part of a team, including training and cross departmental collaboration.
Document Management: Maintain and document data for presentation of reports on quality work including audits, quality improvement and quality assurance projects.
Compliance Metrics: Ensure compliance metrics are met and communicate them to site management and senior leadership. Prepare information for Management review boards.
Policy Development: Contribute to the formulation of Regulatory Policies and Procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal standards and regulations.
Stay Informed: Stay updated on government regulations and standard changes through publications, seminars, or collaborations.
Communication: Effectively communicate business-related matters or opportunities to the next managerial level.

We would like to hear from people that have:
A completed BA/BS, preferably in human services, behavioral health, mental health, or healthcare. Alternatively, a high school diploma may be considered with five or more years of relevant experience.
Ideally, 2 years of quality or regulatory experience in healthcare or another regulated industry.
Customer service and project management experience is preferred.
Previous experience in CARF or AAAHC-accredited organizations or governmental entities focused on improving human services quality is advantageous.
Administrative experiencein the behavioral health field is desirable.
Preferred certifications include American Society for Quality (ASQ), Six Sigma, Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Project Management Professional (PMP).
Adopt a consultative approach to the survey process.
Possess critical thinking skills.
Multitask effectively, including understanding client requirements and providing prompt and satisfactory responses.
Prioritize and manage multiple activities and responsibilities efficiently.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of quality management system concepts, including good documentation practice (GDP), corrective and preventive action (CAPA), and document change control practices.
Collaborate within a team environment and contribute to team objectives. Exhibit the ability to drive change, and ideally, possess project management and process mapping experience.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentation abilities.
Maintain a professional demeanor on the phone and in email communications. Display strong attention to detail.
Be familiar with computers and Windows-based PC applications. Ability to learn and navigate complex computer systems. Experience with word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word) and internet browsers (e.g., Internet Explorer) is required. Familiarity with Smartsheet or PowerDMS is a plus.
Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community is considered a plus.
If in recovery, must have a minimum of two years of sobriety/clean time.
Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members, work collaboratively with clients, other NARA NW staff, team members, and to always treat everyone with respect and dignity.

Experience working within the Native American/Alaskan Native community.
