Job DescriptionSummer 2026 Internship - May 26 - August 14Must be currently enrolled full time in a university degree program pursing a bachelor or master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Must not have graduated before September 2026HybridOnly local candidates consideredWe are seeking a motivated Software Engineering Internto support projects involving database programming, automated data analysis, and software-driven process automation. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys working with data, writing code to eliminate manual tasks, and building tools that improve efficiency and insight across engineering or business workflows.The intern will work closely with engineers and analysts to design, implement, and improve automated data pipelines, analytics scripts, and lightweight software tools used for reporting, decision-making, and operational efficiency.Assist in designing, maintaining, and improving databases used to store and manage structured and semi-structured dataDevelop automated data analysis scripts to process, clean, validate, and summarize large datasetsBuild software automations to replace manual or repetitive workflows (e.g., data ingestion, reporting, validation, or monitoring tasks)Create dashboards, reports, or visualizations to communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholdersCollaborate with team members to gather requirements, review results, and iterate on solutionsDocument code, data flows, and automation logic to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharingTest and debug scripts and tools to ensure accuracy, robustness, and performanceQualificationsCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldExperience with programming or scripting, such as Python, SQL, JSL (JMP Scripting Language) or similar languagesFamiliarity with databases (e.g., relational databases, SQL queries, basic schema design)Basic understanding of data analysis concepts, including data cleaning, aggregation, and validationStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with a teamPreferred QualificationsExperience with automation frameworks, scripts, or tools used to streamline workflowsFamiliarity with data visualization tools or libraries (e.g., dashboards, charts, or reports)Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git)Interest in applying software solutions to real-world engineering or operational problemsAdditional InformationThe expected hourly pay range for this position is $33.25/hr - $44.50/hr. This position is also eligible for bonus opportunities.
