Who We Are Sitting on a quiet tree-lined street in Soho, twelve floors rise above the neighborhood’s storied lofts, boutiques, and galleries. The name derives from the particular manner of hospitality, one that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel — discreet, refined, generous. Our hotel has 97 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests. While our hotel falls under the Standard International umbrella, it will be positioned as a wholly distinct and separate concept from The Standard with a different market positioning, design aesthetic, and service culture. Purpose of the Role The Restaurant General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the restaurant's operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maximizing profitability, and driving business growth. Guest engagement will be a strong focus. You will collaborate with staff across all levels to develop social programming within the restaurant to create a feeling of a genuine, unbuttoned atmosphere for company and conversation. This role requires strong leadership skills to unite the team in creating a distinctive cultural experience for our guests. Responsibilities Ensure smooth daily operations across all restaurant functions. Implement and oversee quality control and food safety procedures. Manage inventory, supply chain, and vendor relationships. Foster a positive work culture and high employee engagement. Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team. Implement and maintain health, safety, and security procedures. Communicates with Executive Chef on menu descriptions, proper plating, and verbiage to train the team. Implement cost-control measures to optimize profitability. Manage cash flow and ensure accurate financial reporting. Responsible for Labor and Payroll for the Front of House team and ensuring that it is accurately received b Finance, including daily tip distribution logs. Delegates duties to floor staff to facilitate the day-to-day operation of the restaurant/bar and be able to fulfill other duties assigned by management. Be fully knowledgeable of the latest trends, in food, wine, beverages and service delivery and to ensure such updates are reflected in the day to day, monthly update and training sessions organized for our team colleagues particularly on all matters relating to current restaurant & bar trends. Guide and coach the team in order for them to effectively handle all guest comments in accordance with The Manner guidelines, acting as the final escalation level and taking ownership of all comments which require resolution or further action at a senior level. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 5+ years of experience in restaurant management, with at least 2 years in a senior management role. Proven track record of successful restaurant operations and financial management. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Excellent understanding of food and beverage operations. ServSafe certification and knowledge of food safety regulations. Full awareness of DOH compliance (NYC DOHMH); shall also act as walk-through liaison whilst DOH is on property. Strong communication (both written and oral) and management skills. Can handle the pressure of a high-volume, high-energy venue. Extensive knowledge of Toast (POS System), Resy (Reservations System), and Extensis (Payroll) Physical Requirements Able to traverse spaces throughout the building as necessary. Able to work standing for a minimum of 10 hours a day. Periodical bending, kneeling, and stretching. Able to pull, push, carry, and lift at least 50 pounds. Must be able to seize, grasp, turn, and hold objects with hands. Compensation & Benefits Salary Range $85k – 95k / year. Excellent and Affordable Health care coverage.
