Corewell Health South Hospitalist Position Corewell Health South is seeking a full‑time Hospitalist to join our team in Southwest Michigan. We value patient‑centered, team‑oriented clinicians and prefer candidates who are board‑eligible or board‑certified in Internal Medicine. Schedule and Coverage • 24/7 inpatient coverage at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital St. Joseph and Corewell Health Niles Hospital. • Block‑style schedule: 7 consecutive days on followed by 7 consecutive days off. • Shifts: 8:00 am‑8:00 pm and 8:00 pm‑8:00 am. • Epic electronic health record is used for documentation. • Procedures are available but not required; no intubation or ventilator management. Essential Functions (Responsibilities) Provide direct patient care: assessment, diagnostic evaluation, ongoing treatment and clinical management, necessary referrals, care planning, medication/therapeutic orders, transfer authorization, discharge readiness and planning in accordance with professional standards and hospital regulations. Direct contact and consultation with patients, families, advocates, and other health care providers to ensure effective communication regarding patient status and plan of care. Accurate and timely completion of all clinical records to assure compliance with organization policies and regulatory requirements. Follow all policies, procedures, and regulations set forth by Corewell Health South, Hospitalist Leadership, Medical Staff Bylaws, employment contract, and the State of Michigan. Demonstrate commitment to continuous improvement of patient experience, patient safety, quality of care, professionalism, and excellent service.
