Chemistry Laboratory Technician

Job Title: Lab TechnicianPay Rate: $25 to $27/HRDuration: 12 monthsLocation: Madison Heights, MIWe are looking for Lab TechnicianResponsibilities:Under the supervision of a Senior Technician or Chemist, the Lab Technician will be expected to perform the following functions with a high level of initiative and independence:Conduct sample testing of coatings characteristics on coated substrates using established proceduresEvaluate, collect, and record data into software applicationsOperate physical and analytical testing equipmentDocument all necessary entries for quality (standard checks/verifications).Be responsible for general laboratory cleanup and other general lab duties as assignedWork effectively and efficiently on the major project teamsCustomer interfacing (communication, correspondence, etc.)Compliance and understanding of corporate standards (Safety, Housekeeping, Quality, etc.)Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in chemistry with prior laboratory experience preferredPrevious experience in an Analytical laboratory is highly desirableComputer literate in Microsoft Office products - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Ability to understand and follow directions with method testing and equipment usage/supportComfortable and able to work with toxic chemicals while following safe laboratory practices/protocols.The ability to stand while working in the laboratory throughout most of the day.Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and perform task assignments with limited supervisionBachelor's degree in chemistry or in a technical field.
