Full job descriptionJob Title: Santa Clara Vanguard Brand AmbassadorOrganization: Santa Clara Vanguard Drum & Bugle CorpsPartner Organization: PepwearEmployment Type: Seasonal, Part-Time, (DCI Tour Season)Location: Tour Based / Nationwide Travel RequiredPosition Summary:Santa Clara Vanguard is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Brand Ambassador / Merchandise Booth Helper to represent the organization during the DCI Drum Corps tour season. This individual will travel with the Corps and collaborate directly with the Pepwear merchandise team at show sites to engage fans, support merchandise sales, and promote the Santa Clara Vanguard brand.This position is highly public-facing and physically demanding, requiring flexibility, enthusiasm, and comfort with the realities of touring life.Key Responsibilities· Partner with Pepwear and act as an official brand ambassador and representative of Santa Clara Vanguard at events, performances, and public engagements· Engage with fans, customers, alumni and students in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner· Answer questions related to:o Santa Clara Vanguard history and legacyo Design concepts and creative inspirationso Programs, auditions, training camps, and how to get involvedo Upcoming events and tour information· Promote Santa Clara Vanguard to prospective students and supportersWork as a Pepwear merchandise booth helper, including:· Support customer interactions at merchandise areas, including:· Assisting customer with product selection, sizing, and inventory· Ringing up customer transactions (credit cards and cash)· Operating credit card readers and point-of-sale systemsAssisting with booth setup and teardown· Maintain a positive, organized, and welcoming booth or engagement area· Collaborate with fellow staff to ensure a high-quality fan experienceQualifications & Requirements· Strong communication and interpersonal skills· Comfortable initiating and sustaining engaging conversations with diverse audiences· Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods of time· Willingness and ability to travel as part of the DCI tour schedule· Dependable, professional, and brand-conscious in all interactionsTravel & TouringThe Brand Ambassador will travel with the Santa Clara Vanguard corps during the DCI tour seasonTravel and Touring accommodation provided, including:o Transportation with the corpso Touring-style sleeping arrangements (e.g., Suburban seating, air mattress, or similar accommodation)o Tour meals provided by the corpsThe individual will meet Pepwear team at show sites to fulfill merchandise booth dutiesPreferred Qualifications (Strong Plus)· Extensive knowledge of the drum corps activities, DCI, and/or Santa Clara Vanguard· Former Santa Clara Vanguard alumni or past employee· Previous experience in customer service, retail, or event engagement· Experience handling cash, point of sales systems, or retail salesSchedule & Duration· Seasonal position aligned with the DCI Drum Corps tour season· Availability required during performances, tour stops, and special events· Some training camps events or preseason activities may applyPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and be on your feet for long durations of time (8 hours or more)Ability to engage with the public for long periodsAbility to lift light to moderate to heavy boxes of merchandise items as neededAbility to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions, including summer weather heatComfort with fast-paced, physically demanding event environments---Important Note:The selected candidate may be employed by a third-party entity separate from the State of Texas.
