DescriptionAs a Technical Writer, you will develop, maintain, and continuously improve manufacturing and technical documentation supporting EPC Power’s engineering, production, and supplier operations. This role works closely with engineers, product managers, suppliers, and manufacturing teams to translate complex technical information into clear, accurate, and standardized documentation used across production, installation, and service environments.This position requires a detail-oriented, organized, and collaborative individual with strong written communication skills and the ability to quickly understand technical systems and processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong aptitude for documentation standardization, usability, and continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.RequirementsProduce and maintain high-quality documentation, including manufacturer work instructions, installation and assembly guides, and equipment SOP and maintenance documentationAuthor and manage documentation within EPC Power’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES – PICO) and related systemsCollaborate with engineers, product managers, and suppliers to gather detailed technical information, product specifications, and process knowledgeReview engineering drawings, specifications, and change documentation to ensure technical accuracy and alignmentTranslate complex technical concepts and terminology into clear, concise, and actionable documentation for diverse audiencesRevise and update existing documentation to reflect product changes, process updates, new features, and user feedbackAdhere to and support the maintenance of internal documentation standards and style guides, ensuring consistency in terminology, tone, and formattingCreate or incorporate diagrams, flowcharts, screenshots, and other visual aids to improve usability and comprehensionAnalyze existing documentation for reuse, modularization, and single-sourcing opportunitiesSupport usability reviews or testing efforts to improve documentation effectivenessPerform other related duties as assigned by managementRequired Qualifications2–5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environmentBachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related fieldExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with strong attention to detailAbility to quickly understand and document complex technical systems and terminologyStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple documentation deliverablesFamiliarity working within Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) environmentsExperience reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and structured technical dataStrong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred QualificationsExperience supporting manufacturing, industrial, or hardware-based documentationFamiliarity with structured authoring, modular documentation, or single-source content strategiesExperience creating visual technical documentation assets (diagrams, process flows, visual work instructions)Benefits401(k) with company matchingMedical dental, and vision insuranceDisability and life insuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Time Off (PTO)Tuition reimbursementEmployee Incentive Program (EIP)EPC Power is an equal opportunity employer.
