Through ASRC, we are a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) and Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), and we also offer 8(a) options.Position Summary Environmental Health and Safety Manger (HSM) supports the HSE Director at the corporate, program, and project level to ensure that company, Federal, State, and local policies and procedures are implemented and followed in regard to health, safety and environmental. The HSM is responsible for the development of project safety plans including project-specific Accident Prevention Plans, Health and Safety Plans, and general Activity/Job Hazards Analyzes. The HSM is responsible for identifying and evaluating potential hazards and planning actions to mitigate the hazards to protect personnel, property, and the environment. The HSM will perform audits to determine the effectiveness of the safety program at the project level. Projects are typically for Federal clients including the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Navy, and The U.S. Department of Energy.Location: Various (AZ, CA, or CO)Salary: $118,000.00 - $136,000.00 (Based on credentials, experience, location, and education)Primary ResponsibilitiesDevelopment of project safety plans based on company and regulatory policies and proceduresSetting appropriate safety standards and implementation of these safety standardsDesignating proper personal protective equipment (PPE) levels with the assistance of the HSE Director and assuring the required protective equipment is readily availableConducting corporate and site-specific safety training for employees and managing the learning management systemTrack and manage employee involvement in the medical monitoring programPerforming site safety audits to assure the implementation of project plans and corporate safety procedurePerforming or arranging for the necessary industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and implementation on project sites as requiredAccident investigation to perform root cause analyzes and associated reportingTrack safety metrics and report key performance indicators to the HSE DirectorAnswering employee questions regarding the Health and Safety ProgramInforming the HSE Director as to the effectiveness of the Health and Safety Program and any recommended issues, changes, or improvementsRequired Education and ExperienceTen (10) or more years of experience in environmental remediation, construction industry, or general industry safety experienceBoard of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC) Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) preferredInstitute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) preferredIn-depth knowledge of OSHA safety standards (29 CFR 1910/1926), DOE safety standards (10 CFR 851), California Code of Regulations (CCR Title 8), and ACGIH guidelinesExperience working on projects with knowledge of USACE Safety and Health Requirements Manual (EM385-1-1)OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training with appropriate yearly updatesOSHA 8-hour Supervisor trainingOSHA-30 hour trained (OSHA 500 training preferred)First-aid, CPR, BBP, and AED trained (certified trainer preferred)Training and experience conducting exposure monitoring/air samplingProficient computer skills with ability to electronically track and documentAbility and experience in interacting with clients and regulatory agency personnelJob Knowledge/QualificationsProactive communications skillsConflict-resolution and problem-solving skillsClear and concise communication in both written and verbal formAbility to be diplomatic or firm when necessaryDetail-oriented and able to work autonomouslyAbility to manage assigned tasks with confidence and easeAbility to prioritize and organize assignmentsSelf-starter, able to manage changing conditionsAbility to work under pressure and prioritize conflicting demandsKnowledge of human resource policies and proceduresWorking ConditionsMaintain professional certificationsTake a baseline, annual, and exit HAZWOPER medical surveillance examAttend annual 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher trainingAbility and medical clearance to wear a respiratorComplete continuing education safety and health related coursework annuallyWork locations will be a mix of both office and project sites, indoors and outdoors.This is a hybrid/travel positionClearance and Health RegimentsCriminal Background CheckPre-placement Drug ScreeningEEO Statement ASRC Industrial (AIS) and its operating companies affords equal opportunity in employment to all individuals regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, pregnancy, familial status, disability status, veteran status, citizenship status, genetic information or any other characteristic protected under Federal, State or Local law.
