Overview
In this program you develop into a senior operations leader to manage distribution center activities, gaining hands-on exposure to Warehouse, Transportation, and Facility Operations. You work with senior leaders to drive service, profitability, and financial planning while building leadership and operational expertise. The program culminates in a nationwide placement as a DC Operations Manager/Director. You’ll grow through structured coaching and real-world projects in a fast-paced distribution environment.

ResponsibilitiesLead and oversee all distribution center operations (warehouse, transportation, facility) ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of receiving, stocking, order selection, packing, delivery, inventory management, maintenance, security, and operations.Assess staffing and equipment needs based on activity, volumes, and product mix to optimize performance and resource use.Drive operational and financial performance by managing labor, OPEX, productivity, and service metrics to meet targets.Ensure compliance with policies and OSHA/DOT, food safety, security, and regulatory requirements; foster safety culture.Maintain inventory accuracy via cycle counts, physical inventories, and variance resolution.Recruit, coach, and develop warehouse and transportation teams; partner on training initiatives.Collaborate with senior leadership to review performance, profitability, and strategic priorities.Investigate incidents with Risk Management and HR; implement corrective actions to improve safety and performance.Lead cross-functional collaboration to support operational excellence and customer service.Support operating expense and labor management to achieve budget and profitability while meeting service commitments.Drive continuous improvement through data-driven analysis focused on safety, quality, service, productivity, and cost reduction.Leverage WMS, TMS, and reporting tools to monitor performance and identify opportunities.P&L accountability and emphasis on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree (BA/BS) and 5–7 years of progressive leadership experience, or equivalent experience.Strong ability to read and interpret business reports, journals, and regulations.Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present to employees, customers, and senior leaders.Strong analytical and quantitative skills for interpreting financial and operational metrics.Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities in fast-paced environments.Ability to interpret and execute instructions in various formats.Willingness to relocate after program completion.leadershipeffective communicationcross-functional collaborationWMSTMSdata-driven analysis
