Job Title: Senior Scientist (Oligonucleotide Design and Chemistry )Location: South San Francisco, CA 94080Employment Type: W2 Contract, 12 Month Contract with possibility for extensionsPay Rate: $70.00 – $83.23/hourWork Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour days (Fully onsite)Role Overview:BEPC is seeking an experienced Senior Scientist (Oligonucleotide Design and Chemistry) to support our client's drug discovery programs. This role is ideal for a highly skilled scientist with deep expertise in oligonucleotide design, synthesis, and analysis who is eager to contribute to cutting-edge therapeutic development.You will play a key role in advancing novel oligonucleotide-based therapies, collaborating cross-functionally, and mentoring team members in a fast-paced research environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design, synthesis, and characterization of novel oligonucleotides for drug discovery programs.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior scientists.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including biology and biochemistry to design and execute assays.Support multiple concurrent projects and contribute to strategic decision-making.Utilize advanced tools for chemical structure analysis, purification, and characterization.Manage and maintain laboratory instrumentation and workflows.Participate in cross-disciplinary discussions to drive program execution and innovation.Ensure accurate documentation and communication of experimental results.Qualifications:Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, or related field.Extensive hands-on experience in oligonucleotide synthesis, purification, and analytics.Strong expertise with siRNA and/or ASO therapeutics.In-depth knowledge of chemically modified oligonucleotides and analytical techniques.Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a collaborative environment.Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in drug discovery or pharmaceutical R&D environments.Familiarity with advanced analytical instrumentation and purification systems.Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading scientific teams.
