The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the availability, integrity, and security of our organization's data through effective backup and storage management. They will play a crucial role in maintaining data backup processes, managing storage resources, and implementing disaster recovery plans.How You Will Do ItDevelop and maintain data backup processes to ensure regular and reliable backups.Monitor backup systems and processes to ensure successful completion of backups.Conduct periodic testing and validation of data backups to ensure data integrity and accessibility.Manage storage resources and capacity, ensuring optimal performance and availability.Troubleshoot storage-related issues and work collaboratively with relevant teams to resolve them promptly.Implement and enforce security measures to protect backup and storage resources from unauthorized access.Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and industry standards.Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures, including regular testing and updates.Document and communicate backup and storage configurations, procedures, and recovery processes.Monitor backup and storage performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource allocation.Generate reports on backup success rates, storage utilization, and other performance metrics.Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in backup and storage management.What We Look ForBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Proven experience in backup and storage management, preferably in a similar role.Min 5-8 years of experience of Backup administration & architecture/design.Min 5-8 years of experience of Storage technical support.Min 3 years of experience of Cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, GCP).Min 5-8 years of experience of Backup Configuration, Design & Troubleshooting.Strong knowledge of backup technologies, storage systems, and disaster recovery principles.Familiarity with backup and storage software and tools (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetApp).Solid understanding of data privacy regulations and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Detail-oriented and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.Certifications in backup and storage management (e.g. Rubrik, Networker, Veritas & Data Domains/Quantum hardware) are a plus.Experience with Enterprise level tool sets related to monitoring & ticketing (ServiceNow).Experience in large scale deployments, patching & maintenance activities related to backup & storage environments.Must be a US Citizen due to security and data protection classification.Johnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
