For more information, please visit fluenceenergy.com.Job DescriptionRole OverviewWe are seeking a high‑caliber, analytical, and seasoned Senior Payroll Specialist to lead our multi‑country payroll operations. This is a critical, high‑impact role that goes far beyond transaction processing. The ideal candidate is a trusted payroll and employment tax expert with a deep understanding of compliance, a strong command of ADP Workforce Now, and proven experience navigating the complexities of U.S. multi‑state, Canadian, and Chilean payroll environments.Reporting to the Senior Payroll Manager within the Human Resources Operations team, this individual will bring an “audit‑ready” mindset, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and proactively drive process improvements through automation, accuracy, and strong cross‑functional partnership.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end‑to‑end payroll processing for multi‑state U.S. payroll, as well as Canadian and Chilean payroll cycles, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, overtime, and statutory deductionsServe as the subject‑matter expert for employment tax compliance, including federal, state, local, and international (Canada and Chile) tax regulations and wage and hour lawsManage payroll tax registrations in new jurisdictions and oversee year‑end processes and filings (including W‑2s, T4s, and other statutory reporting)Calculate and withhold taxes related to equity compensation, including stock option exercises and equity vestingManage complex benefit deductions and ensure accurate mapping and posting to the General LedgerPerform full‑cycle payroll reconciliations, including journal entries, GL audits, and variance analysisCoordinate payroll funding requests with Treasury and ensure SOX compliance and internal controls are consistently metIdentify and implement opportunities for automation and process optimization within ADP and Workday to improve efficiency, accuracy, and data integrityAct as the primary point of contact for employee payroll inquiries and business partner questions, delivering high‑quality customer service and effective issue resolutionRequired Qualifications And ExperienceMinimum of 6 years of experience in multi‑state U.S. payroll processing, with at least 4 years focused specifically on payroll tax and employment tax complianceHands‑on experience processing Canadian and Chilean payroll is highly preferred and may be required for the roleExpert‑level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including XLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and data validationAdvanced experience with ADP Workforce Now is requiredBachelor’s degree required; Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a strong plusDemonstrated ability to resolve complex payroll and tax discrepancies while managing high‑volume, competing prioritiesStrong communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex payroll and tax concepts to diverse stakeholdersAdditional SkillsExperience managing company‑issued stock plans and equity vestingSystem experience with Workday PayrollBilingual Spanish skills are a plus to support Chilean operationsOur CultureAt Fluence, our culture is the foundation that drives our ambitious growth strategy and fuels our mission to transform the future of energy.
