Senior Associate Scientist
Title : Associate Scientist - Product Development Location : ConnecticutDuration: 12 MonthsOverviewOur client is seeking an Associate Scientist to support their Product Development team within a biologically focused environment. This individual will play a key role in both hands-on analytical testing and instrument performance readiness. The ideal candidate will bring strong chromatography experience, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to ensure analytical equipment is operating reliably to support ongoing development activities.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine and non-routine analytical testing using liquid chromatography methods, with a primary focus on Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) and Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC)Support product development studies through sample preparation, execution of assays, and analysis of experimental resultsEvaluate analytical instruments to ensure proper performance, calibration status, and readiness for useConduct system suitability, system stability, and sample testing on existing equipmentTroubleshoot instrumentation issues and partner with internal teams or vendors on maintenance and optimization effortsMaintain accurate documentation of testing activities, results, and instrument performance in accordance with internal quality standardsAnalyze data and prepare clear, concise technical summaries and reportsCollaborate cross-functionally with product development, analytical development, and quality teams to support project timelinesQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related scientific discipline2+ years of industry experience in analytical development, product development, or a related laboratory environmentHands-on experience with liquid chromatography, especially SEC and GPCExperience supporting instrument qualification, troubleshooting, or performance monitoring activitiesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and documentation skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with advanced analytical techniques including ASE, DSC, MALS, CD, and AUCBackground supporting biologics, protein characterization, or formulation development programsFamiliarity with GMP or regulated laboratory environments
