Industrial LaborerThis role involves performing a wide range of hands-on tasks in an industrial precast concrete manufacturing environment. You will work as part of a production team to safely and efficiently produce high-quality precast concrete products, with a focus on steel and rebar preparation, facility upkeep, and adherence to safety and quality standards.ResponsibilitiesAccurately read and interpret drawings and blueprints to understand product specifications and rebar layouts.Cut, bend, place, tie, and weld steel rebar according to project requirements and production schedules.Prepare steel cages and rebar assemblies for filling with concrete, ensuring correct placement and secure tying.Use hand and power tools such as hammers, tape measures, grinders, impact guns, scrapers, pliers, and welders to complete daily tasks.Perform general labor and production duties in the steel and rebar department, including staging materials and assisting with castings.Support general construction-style tasks associated with precast concrete production in a fast-paced environment.Carry out facility maintenance and housekeeping to keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.Follow written and verbal instructions and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.Lift and move materials weighing up to 40 pounds periodically throughout the day while following safe lifting practices.Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and safe operation of tools and equipment.Essential SkillsAbility to accurately read and interpret drawings and blueprints.Hands-on experience using hand tools, including hammers, tape measures, scrapers, and pliers.Comfort working with hand and power tools such as grinders, impact guns, and welders.Capability to cut, bend, tie, and prepare steel rebar for use in concrete castings.Comfort working in a fast-paced industrial or construction-style environment.Knowledge of basic math and measurements for accurate cutting and layout.Ability to read and write simple instructions and communicate effectively with team members.Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds periodically throughout the day.Reliability and willingness to perform general labor and production tasks as needed.Use of appropriate protective footwear, including steel toe shoes.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious manufacturing or construction experience preferred.Experience in general labor, general production, or construction labor is an asset.Familiarity with working in an industrial steel and rebar department or similar environment.Experience working with hand and power tools in a production or construction setting.Ability to maintain good housekeeping and support facility maintenance tasks.Comfort working in an environment that can be dusty or dirty due to materials and production processes.Why Work Here?The organization operates with a safety-first mindset and a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and reliability in the utility infrastructure industry. The facility is not temperature controlled, so you work in varying weather conditions and must be comfortable in an environment that can be dusty or dirty. You will spend most of your time in the steel and rebar department, cutting, bending, tying, and preparing rebar for castings. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, with a typical shift of 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. You regularly use hand and power tools such as hammers, tape measures, grinders, impact guns, scrapers, pliers, and welders. Appropriate protective footwear, including steel toe shoes, is required, and additional personal protective equipment is provided as needed to support a safe and productive work environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilsonville, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
