Sr. Business Controls Manager

This comprehensive approach delivers flexibility, transparency, and performance across multiple asset classes, supporting both clients and customers in all market and interest rate environments.Reporting to the EVP, Enterprise Controls, this position is responsible for conducting risk assessments, documenting operational processes and controls, analyzing available data, supporting issue remediation, change leadership, and providing operational support for assigned functional areas, with the purpose of identifying areas of risk outside of tolerance, existing control gaps, or improvement opportunities.The role is responsible for defining recommended processes and control environment enhancements in partnership with assigned business units. The role partners with key stakeholders to identify, define, and implement process optimization best practices within the organization. Additionally, this position may support the administration functions for issue management by gathering and organizing relevant information to control gap issues and mitigation plans.The role responsibilities with issue management include collecting, tracking, and driving the resolution of all material issues identified through Quality Assurance (QA), Quality Control (QC), Internal Audit (IA), external audits/ exams, and/ or self-identified by business departments.Additionally, this position addresses identified issues through collaboration and partnership with senior leadership to prioritize the issue(s), determine a root cause, size the impacted population, define a remediation plan, monitor timelines, and work within the governance framework to ensure the remediation plan is executed in a timely manner.Qualifications include:Bachelor’s degree in related field (or equivalent combination of work experience and High School diploma/GED); MBA preferredTraining in Project Management and/or Six Sigma methodologies preferredExperience in the financial services or mortgage industry, preferred5 + years’ experience in Business Controls, Operational Risk, Change Leadership5 + years’ implementing transformative initiatives3 + years’ experience in a control/ compliance function3 + years’ experience in issues leadershipIn-depth knowledge of CFPB examination expectations for financial institutions preferredIn depth knowledge with mortgage industry regulations including CFPB, UDAP, RESPA, and TILAIn-depth practical knowledge of internal preventative and detective controls, risk assessments and compliance processes, and applicable risk-based techniques for implementation of effective regulatory, compliance and legal requirements and compliance processesPrior demonstrated experience in reading and understanding regulatory content, and performing impact and control suitability analysis to identify potential gaps in the operation or its vendorsKnowledge of process improvement and project management methodologies, preferredDemonstrated experience working in a fast-paced work environmentStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in using Visio or related products to develop process flows, Excel to compile and analyze data, and PowerPoint to develop presentationsStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong listening skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and effectively lead discussionsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across the organizationStrong analytical skillsStrong problem-solving abilitiesStrong decision-making abilities coupled with sound judgmentStrong organizational and time management skillsDemonstrated ability to prioritize and multitaskResults-oriented, with ability to execute in a timely mannerStrong attention to detailFlexible, open to change, able to learn new things quickly; ability to adapt quickly to feedbackSelf-directed; able to work independentlyCollaborative; team-oriented; able to work effectively with othersCompliance/quality orientationComfortable working with ambiguity and uncertaintySubmit Your Resume to Learn MoreFeatured BenefitsMedical, Dental and Vision InsuranceCompany Paid Life InsuranceDisability InsurancePet Insurance401k Program with Employer Matching3 Weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)Paid HolidaysWellness InitiativesEmployee Assistance ProgramEligible for Hybrid Work Schedule with Remote Flex DaysCompensationThe hiring range for this position is between $95,000.00-$100,000.00 annuallyThis position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonusFay Cares!The Fay-Genstone Foundation was established to fulfill the philanthropic mission of The Fay Group employees to serve the communities in which they live and work.
