Department: Technical Services - Packaging InksReports To: Regional ManagerWork Model: Remote / Field-Based with Work From Home FlexibilityTravel Requirement: Up to 25% travel to customer sites and manufacturing facilitiesThe Technical Account Manager is a customer-facing technical expert responsible for supporting flexographic packaging accounts in a highly competitive ink market. This role partners closely with Sales to stabilize customer accounts, support retention, and resolve technical challenges related to ink performance and pressroom operations.This position is not a quota-carrying sales role. Instead, the Technical Account Manager focuses on technical support, process optimization, troubleshooting, and customer relationship management across wide web flexographic and gravure printing operations.The ideal candidate combines deep technical knowledge of inks and printing processes with the ability to collaborate across sales, R&D, manufacturing, and regulatory teams to deliver tailored solutions for flexible packaging customers.Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Customer SupportManage and lead technical service support for wide web flexographic and gravure customers. Ensure optimal performance of water-based and solvent-based ink product lines used in flexible packaging. Pressroom Troubleshooting & OptimizationConduct on-site troubleshooting, ink optimization, and product performance evaluations. Diagnose and resolve print defects, color issues, and process inefficiencies. Press Trials & Product ImplementationCoordinate and lead press trials, product introductions, and technical audits at customer facilities. Evaluate ink performance across different substrates, drying systems, and press conditions. Cross-Functional CollaborationWork closely with R&D, Sales, Manufacturing, and Regulatory teams to deliver customer-specific technical solutions. Support new product development and implementation initiatives. Customer Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key technical and operational stakeholders at customer sites. Serve as the primary technical contact for assigned accounts. Technical Strategy & Account SupportDevelop technical service strategies that support customer retention, operational stability, and growth. Assist sales teams in strengthening technical credibility with customers. Documentation & ReportingMaintain detailed technical service reports, troubleshooting logs, and documentation. Provide insights to internal teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. Compliance & SafetyEnsure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory standards, including:VOC regulationsSolvent handling proceduresProduct stewardship requirements.
