Maintenance Supervisor - 3rd Shift
DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead 3rd shift operations within a high-volume food manufacturing facility operating 24/5. This role is responsible for overseeing maintenance technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting production through both reactive and proactive maintenance strategies. The Maintenance Supervisor reports directly to the Maintenance Manager and serves as the technical and leadership resource for the shift.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on maintenance leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and is passionate about team development and continuous improvement.Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and support maintenance technicians on 3rd shift
Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and controls issues to minimize downtime
Implement corrective actions for critical equipment failures and extended downtime events
Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, partnering with operations leadership
Develop and manage team schedules to ensure proper coverage while minimizing overtime
Coordinate staffing adjustments, call-ins, and shift coverage as needed
Maintain accurate scheduling visibility 4 weeks out and communicate changes promptly
Monitor CMMS usage to ensure accurate work order documentation and task completion
Identify equipment reliability improvements and initiate work orders or projects
Support and lead training initiatives; ensure completion and compliance
Recommend and manage personnel actions including hiring, coaching, and discipline
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and support capital or facility projects
Coordinate complex repairs and collaborate with external technical support as needed
Promote safety, GMP compliance, and a positive team-oriented culture
Must-Have Skills, Experience, and EducationAssociate degree or equivalent technical education/experience preferred
Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience
3+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Strong electrical, mechanical, and welding proficiency
Experience utilizing CMMS and standard business software (PC, email, etc.)
Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
Flexible availability, including weekends or off-hours as needed
Physical Requirements & Work EnvironmentManufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, industrial noise, and powered equipment
Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
Exposure to varying temperatures typical of food production environments
